New timings of the day • 8.40 children to start coming in to classrooms and start Early Morning Work • 8.50 KS2 register • 10.25 break time (apart from Tuesday when we have a later assembly and then break at 10.45) • 12.20 KS2 lunch time starts • 1.10 KS2 lunch time finishes • 3.20 KS2 finish the school day
Attendance and Punctuality • Doors open at 8.40am • In class by 8.50am (‘late’ after this time) • It is important that pupils endeavour to be on time so as not to disrupt their own and others’ learning • After 9.30am – marked as absent for session • Below 85% attendance will be referred to EWO • Holidays not authorised in term time unless exceptional circumstances • Sickness – 48 hours clear please (ring absence line)

Learning & Homework • Spellings— tested weekly. • Reading— at least 3 times a week (books / bug club), reading journal • English / Topic—you child will either a series of short term tasks or a longer term task to complete. We will give you instructions for each task to write in your homework bookand a project letter where necessary • Maths—homework to be confirmed. Sometimes additional homework may be given where appropriate to consolidate learning in class. Remember to learn your times tables too for the ‘X Table Challenge!’.
SATs • Meeting nearer the time to explain changes and what you can do to help at home • Focusing on progress, not just the tests • They are a way of checking our assessments, not the be all and end all
Behaviour policy & Anti Bullying Policy Bullying records If you have any concerns about bullying or friendship issues, please come and see us sooner rather than later. We take bullying very seriously and have rigorous system of recording to help us tackle any issues. Our class contract has already been established and we want to work towards a positive working atmosphere.
E-safety & Safeguarding • Strict e-safety protocols in school • Working with home to promote e-safety • No Facebook, Twitter or Instagram or similar accounts please • Mobile phones – permission letter should be given to us; mobiles turned off while on school premises; mobiles are kept in our cupboard during the day but are not our responsibility • Safeguarding: there are designated teachers displayed in the welcome area (Mrs Roberts, Mrs Ashman and Mrs Baldwin-Wheat).
Rewards • Positive verbal praise and/or positive written praise in books. Going up the rocket. • Good behaviour reward card (to be shared with parents) • Sharing success with others in class, e.g. merits and stickers • Merit certificate in assemblies • Whole class ‘treat’ based on reward systems • St Peter’s Hero Award • Lunchtimes • Play Fair, Play Safe, Play Together
Sanctions • 1. Verbal warnings or reprimand • 2. Moved on individual class behaviour system • 3. Move/isolate in class • 4. Temporary relocation to another class/area for up to 10 minutes • 5. Child sent to Key Stage Leader and parents informed by the class teacher • 6. Break-time detention and parents informed using a standard letter which is signed by the KS Leader • 7. Child seen by Deputy Head or Head Teacher and parents informed • 8. Exclusions; all exclusions will follow DFE guidelines
