Saving Grace Darlene Ryan 206Realistic Fiction Hannah Fonseca 6th
Setting • The author of Saving Grace never gave the exact city or place were it was mainly based on. It sometimes took place on the road because they were in the truck on the way to Montreal, and in the restaurant where she stopped to eat, and at the gas station. • In the truck it was dusty, it smelt like baby barf because Brianna puked in the truck when she didn’t want the milk. The truck was sticky and wet also because Brianna peed everywhere too. • The gas station was filthy with gasoline one the floor. • Fern’s is the restaurant she ate at on the way to Montreal. It was clean but old in there.

Love is hard and can get you into a sticky situation. Evidence 1: Evie loves Brianna so much she risked going to jail and getting caught by the cops to get her child back. Evidence 2: She ran away from home to be with Justin and Brianna. Evidence 3: Justin doesn't love Evie anymore and didn’t want Brianna in the first place. Theme
Point Of View • This book was written in first person. This point of view helps the reader understand how the character feels or his\her feelings about the situation. If the point of view was change the character emotions wouldn’t tell us their thoughts and feelings through out the story, and the reader wouldn’t know the inside of the story.
Symbolism The symbolism of this book is a baby with her young mom. The symbol shows how the mom cares for the baby no matter what.
Recommendation • I recommend this book if you are in to realistic fiction. This book shows how a young teen decides how she is going to handle a tough situation without anybody helping her. You should give this book a try, you might like it.
