Gilco Transport • April 9th, 2010 • Tanker overturns at MP 220 on US 6 • Hairpin corner directly above A-Basin base area. • Comes to rest on a retaining wall above a 1,000 foot 1:1 slope. • Approx 2,280 gallons of red-dye diesel fuel released. • Approx 4,700 gallons of fuel were off-loaded into another tanker. • Some fuel did reach the North Fork of the Snake River

Current Situation • Work shut down for the winter • Pass is closed today due to snow… • Last samples show an average contamination reduction of 32% • USFS Concerns: • remaining contamination on the slope over the winter • effectiveness/timeliness of the bio-remediation effort
Next Steps • RP contractor will monitor the spill area during the Spring run-off • If discharge is discovered, boom will be deployed • Second round of bio-remediation treatment planned - June 2011 • Inject to 6-12 inches or to refusal • Nutrients, oxygen at depth
