  3. Slavery In America Where was slavery used in the colonies? What crop was grown in the south? What invention propelled Slavery in the 1800’s? Who were the slaves? Who owned slaves? How were slaves treated?

  4. Where was slavery in the Colonies? The SOUTH!!- The South had better conditions (soil, weather) for farming. Slavery was a cheap way to find the labor force needed to till the land.

  9. How were the slaves treated? Most people think the Slaves were beaten often, but in Truth they were rarely treated this badly. Although most slaves were poorly fed and clothed most were not physically harmed. The toughest punishment most got was being sold to another plantation.
