CONCEPT • A technique of generating, refining and developing ideas that can be undertaken by individuals, but is more effective when undertaken by a group of people. • Rawlinson (1981): • To get as much ideas as possible. • By group of people. • In a short duration.
Basic principles • Aim for quantity of ideas. • No criticism and discussion on ideas. • Every member should throw their on ideas based on the imagination. • Not more than 10 members. • Duration: 15-30 minutes. • Ideas than could be categorised, combined, modified, developed and polished.
Aims • To produce IDEA beyond logical barrier peacefully and joyfully. • To get QUALITY IDEA practically, economically and effectively.
Modus operandi • 1st SESSION • Ice breaking and self introduction • Select leader and note taker • 2nd SESSION (Throwing idea) • Choosing a topic • Specifying the TOPIC • Sharing ideas without any criticism • 3rd SESSION • Idea evaluation • Idea refinement
Categorising, combining, modifying, developing and polishing the IDEAS.
Physical requirement • Comfort room • White board/flip chart • Rounded table (much better than the square one) • Paper and pencil for each member • Multi colour marker pen • AV recorder (if necessary)
