Where They Lived… The Tocabaga Indians lived in a small village in the Northern end of Tampa Bay. From the nine hundreds to the fifteen hundreds each village was situated around a public area. It was used for a meeting place.
The Houses… The houses were built with wooden polesthat hold up palm lashes. A mound is a large pile of earth shells or stones. The tribes templeand the chief’s home wereboth built on a mound.
Burying the dead The Tocabaga Indians also built burialmounds next to the main village area as a place to bury the dead.
