Summary • version 1 of a data-assimilating global ocean model has been run for 10yrs. Surface currents good, temperatures will be better in version 2. • GUI-launched nested model in final stages of testing • daily-updated web site showing ocean data popular with industrial and recreational users • user pull: GoogleEarth/GIS compatibility • threat analysis: declining number of altimeters
