  4. What is KeePass? • KeePass is a secure database that stores, manages and organizes your passwords • Open Source • Free (http://keepass.info) PROGRAM DATABASE FILE

Database File • AES 256bit encryption • Stored on local machine,usb drive or network • Supports synchronization • Multiple users can use thesame password database (2.x only) • Supports multiple databases • Supports composite Master Key • Can sync via http,WebDAV,ftp • Plugins support syncing to cloud (Dropbox) DATABASE FILE

Different ways to apply password to a web page (KP must be open) • Copy and paste • Right click • CTRL+B (copy username) CTRL+C (copy password) • 12 second limit • Drag and drop from columns to a web page • AutoType (CTRL+ALT+A) • Entry title must match Window/Tab title • Works in any browser • KeeForm (based on AutoType, double click URL) • Entry title must match Window/Tab title • Plugin must be installed separately • IE and Firefox only

  8. Creating a New Entry X Click the “New Entry” Button Do not click the “New” button. This creates a new database file.
