This expression is used to give praise. “I aced the test!” “You’re the man!” It also has a similar meaning to: You’re the best. You’re someone who can accomplish anything. You’re someone who people have to take notice of.

  3. Today’s topic: Being The Man In Aloe Blacc’s “The Man”, a recurring line is “I’m the man”. Questions: What has Aloe Blacc done that makes him feel like “the man”? What have you done in your life to feel like the man? In other words, when have you felt like you were needed, relied upon, successful, the center of attention, etc.? Examples: Kobe Bryant, the star of the Los Angeles Laker, knows that his teammates will turn to him to make the game winning shot. My co-worker was able to use skills outside of his job description to help a customer, which earned us a loyal, long-term customer.
