Persons wit a Negative Self-Esteem usually … • Are oversensitive to criticism • Are over presponsive to compliments • Have a tendency to blame others • Have a feeling of being picked on
Con’t … • Handle competition poorly • Are over competitive or refuse to compete • Feel socially left out • Are uncertain of their values and priorities
People with a high self-esteem usually … • Have clear values and principles which are followed • Can make decisions, accept consequences and learn form their mistakes • Enjoys the present without undue worry
Con’t … • Have confidence in their ability to deal with problems • Feels accepted by others • Can give and accept a wide range of activities • Is flexible to the needs of others • Feels equal to others not superior or inferior
Results of a person with Positive Self-Esteem • Achieve higher grades and are more successful in school and life • Are less likely to drop out of school • Are less prejudice • Can work with others more successfully
