Raising awareness and screening on diabetes • Campaigns conducted in collaboration with key institutions and Ministry of Health hospitals to • increase awareness of general public, • disseminate messages on healthy lifestyle and ensure early diagnosis: • Screening tests in malls and hospitals • 2011 and 2012 : 5 campaigns (1000 individuals) • 2013 plan : massive A1c testing targeting 2000 individuals. Training of primary care physicians (PCP) and diabetes educators • Training of Saudi PCP on diabetes management guidelines • Workshops managed by endocrinology consultants • Focus on remote areas to allow equal distribution of education at MOH directorates • CME accreditation for attendees in alliance with MOH • 2011/2012: 800 PCP trained - Plan 2013 :1000 PCP • Training of diabetes educators and nurses to improve interaction with diabetic patients: • Alliance with major medical institutions (e.g. King Saud University hospitals) • Support Diabetes Friendship association in Jeddah • Sanofi teams educate about insulin and use of devices • 2011/2012 : 160 educators trained (15 sessions) • Plan 2013 : 200 educators PCP: Primary Care Physicians MOH: Ministry of Health CME: Continuous Medical Education Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 8

Education of patients and their families to help them manage their diabetes • Patients education programs with diabetes associations: • Training sessions with the participation of professional diabetes educators (350 patients over 2011/2012) • Type 1 patients camps with children activities in alliance with major institutions and specific educational cartoon (TANTOON) • Collaboration with Charities (ENSAN) to educate and support patients. In 2012 around 50 diabetic widows trained on diabetes management. • Sponsorship of First diabetes Arabic website ' Diabetes Networking and Forums’ www.dmeducation.com (Since 2007). • 5.1 million viewers from all over the Middle-East • 4,000 questions answered by healthcare professionals per year • An average of 28,000 daily visits in 2012 Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 9

Educational compliance programs • Innovative Patient Support Program TAMKEENdeveloped with King Khalid National Guard Hospital Jeddah: • Patient education to develop self-management attitude • Improve compliance to treatment through regular contact with professionally trained and certified educator • Enhance Saudi experience in building patient’s self-management • 1 year program in 500 type 1 diabetes patients • STAR Connect Program • Dedicated call center with thorough patient follow-up • Web platform for Doctors and Nurse educators • Pilot with 1000 patients over 6 months Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 10

Tomorrow Sanofi local manufacturing • Industrial investment in King Abdullah Economic city: “state of the art” 35K square meter site that will produce 7 M units solid form for the first phase • Transfer of technology by training Saudi employees. • Construction started in November 2012. Commercial batches will be available in 2015. • Exportation to GCC countries Objectives • Fully owned legal entity with pharmaceutical status and manufacturing and distribution capacities to: • Secure a steady future supply of products • Provides jobs to Saudi citizens • Stimulates economic development • Increase access to medicines through • Minimized regulatory time constraints • Local production of generics • Provide quick and appropriate response to market demands by • Being close to our customers • Expanding our affordable medication portfolio Investment Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 11

  12. Limitation of use of a scarce resource: water • Specific system for purified water: the site will use thermo compression. A system that will consume less water than the reverse osmosis which is the current process used in Sanofi plants  • A tank will collect water effluents and other sources of water. If analysis shows that water features corresponds to local limitsset by regulations,this water will be used for gardening. Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 12

  13. Creation of jobs for Saudi citizens • Sanofi has an agreement with the Authorities to employ Saudi citizens. Therefore, action plans are being designed to: • Attract and hire Saudi employees from both genders • Train future employees through partnership with universities Saudi CSR Forum – Jeddah - April 9th, 2013 13
