  2. Sometimes, our body, specifically our breathing tract may be filled with substances like mucus and the other fluids. There might be a chance when the mucus or the other fluids might not be able to be expelled from the body. This may further account to coughing as well as the congestion. It is this coughing and the congestion that will help a medical expert study the cause of the problem. People usually associate cough with chest congestion.

In case you are allergic to these airborne triggers then chances are that you may display symptoms like congestion or rashes when exposed to the allergens such as pollen, dust, smoke, etc.Infection, flu, viral fever or cold might be another cause of allergic cough. The symptoms of this may include chest congestion, runny nose, perennial cough, etc.

This is usually caused by the inflammation of the bronchi. Pneumonia could be another cause of the allergic cough and chest congestion. This is another serious disorder that may be caused by parasites, virus or the bacteria. If not cured immediately, this may tend to be contagious.
