  2. Aim of this short session Stimulate further discussion outside a define frame for the time being but hopefully useful for future work in a Technical Committee on words from the report « CTT is seen to be important for the ongoing confidence in OIML certification system »

Documentation and certificate After presentation of the EU system and discussion one recommendation in the Report is Improve the quality and expand the content of OIML certificates and of related documentation In order to better identify the certified instrument clearly prescribe the responsibility of manufacturers

  4. Actual certificates Result of spot-check of existing certificates although the frame looks the same large variety of information depending on the category of measuring instruments the issuing authority Obviously there is no real possibility to identify easily the type and the main features

  5. questions What is missing ? What is needed ? Are there easy improvements possible ? (applicable to all certificates ? applicable per category ?) What could we suggest for future work ?

Responses of the audience The needs : Readibility of the certificates for developping countries If it is the only documents that is available and to be used in the field it needs to include more information Explanation about the identifiction of the type (especially when it includes xxyy to identify different versions)

  7. Responses of the audience The certificate need to identify which parts are covered and those that are not covered List of additions suggested List of essential features Pictures or drawings, sealing description,software identifiction Critical checks to be performed on the market

  8. Responses of teh audience Suggestion for future work : Make a comparaison exercise of different national approvals based on the same OIML certificate to identify which other information is to be added to the OIML certificate as it is used in most of the national certificates
