BALOCHISTAN EARTHQUAKE UPDATE AS ON 29 NOV 2008 Losses / Compensation Provision of Relief Items • Dead/ InjuredCompensation Disbursed • Dead - 163 - • Injured - 175 Rs. 6.3 M (42 Cases) Houses Damaged • Complete/Major - 5216 Rs. 1299.0 M (3713 Houses) • Partially - 2287 Rs. 55.2 M (1103 Houses) • Minor - 2297 Rs. 8.87 M ( 591 Houses) TotalRs.1369.37 Million Employment of Mil/ CAF Resources & Civil Admin • Manpower • 2165 x all ranks committed. 500 persons ex police employed • 28 x Medical Teams engaged (18x from Govt of Balochistan), 5 x Static Clinic and 2 x Tertiary Hospital • 1 x ADS ex Army &3x Medical Team ex Army & CAF • 31 x Team ex Army carried out damage assessment survey • Material • 26 x C-130 and 15 x Helicopters arrived carrying relief goods • Medicines, medical stores & 19xAmbulances with emergency kits • 9 x Dozer, 5xTransporter, 3x Excavators, 3 FE Loaders Donations • * 1500 x Winterized tents committed by Rotary Club, 1000 by Salvation Army,2991 by PRCS/ICRC, 2500 by IFRC and 500 by CARE International. • £ IFRC 4000, 2000 shelters by PRCS/ICRC, 1000 by UN HABITAT,Misc 1490 ( Bali Trust /Muslim Aid/Turkish RC, IOM, JICA, Jamat-ud-Dawa, Muslim Hand and Al-Amin Trust etc) • 6,000x one room shelters by different organizations. Construction in progress. • WFP started supply of 2 months rations for 20,000 people with effect from 3 Nov 2008
