Legislative Overview The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) of 2006 calls for a single searchable website including for each Federal award: • the name of the entity receiving the award; • the amount of the award; • information on the award including transaction type, fundingagency, etc; • the location of the entity receiving the award; • a unique identifier of the entity receiving the award.
High-Level Timeline • March 2007 – Inform agencies of new information collection and reporting requirements • July 1, 2007 – Commence a pilot program for enabling searches for subgrants and subcontracts across the federal government • January 1, 2008 – Launch a website to the public, free of charge, that provides federal award information • January 1, 2009 – Include subaward data in the website search • January 2010 – GAO report on Act implementation
