  2. Pedon PC is an electronic soil description form. It is a replacement for the traditional paper description form.

  16. Pedon PC takes the use of data one step beyond NASIS capabilities. Pedon use in NASIS • Once data is in NASIS, it has little to no use for analysis. • We can link a pedon to a map unit. • A few narrative reports. • A few downloads for import into spreadsheets but these are one table at a time.

  23. Advantages • Data is recorded into database. Not a piece of paper. • Eliminates office entry. • Auto populates some data. • All pedons geo-referenced. • Analyzes pedon data. • Links the tabular with spatial data • Choice list is controlled. • Customizable.

  24. Disadvantages • It is on a computer. • Some setup is required. • Analysis portion has a learning curve. • Constrained by the NASIS pedon framework.
