Step -I Create a powerful team for clean-up: schools, friends, youth clubs, Rotary, men’s societies, women’s societies, Gurdwaras…
Step -II Check your shopping list • Dress code: Turban/Head Bands of one colour, “green” preferred • Safety equipment: Latex or surgical gloves (twice the number of pairs as volunteers) • Recycled bin bags: (5-10 Kg) – get more than you think you need • Recycled pieces of cardboard: For helping pick up trash on the road (see picture • far right). Get half as many as there are volunteers
Step -III Hire or borrow a truck/cart to carry trash.Put a big notice on the side and also acknowledge the company that lent it

Step -V Encouraging the food stalls • Visit food stalls beforehand • Ask the stall-holders to install • rubbish bins • Ask stall-holders to depute • volunteers for clean-up • It is vital to encourage the • public to use bins or bin • bags and keep the streets • clean
Step -VI Offer a prayer or ardas to the Almighty, start the clean up with Jaikara Bole-So-Nihal... Sat Sri Akal...
Step -VII Hand over the collected trash to the Municipal Corporation. AND work with them to make trash collection in your city better Take good shots, videos and share with us at admin@ecosikh.org
