  2. Recreation • The best places for a Honduras beach vacation are the Bay Islands off the north coast. The Bay Islands are best known for their wonderful diving sites. They are surrounded by the second largest coral reef in the world. Diving, snorkeling, fishing, and sea kayaking are popular things to do on a Honduras beach vacation to the Bay Islands. Gumbalimba Park , a family recreation park, has something for everyone: beach, kayaking, canopy tour, snorkeling, SNUBA, nature path, botanical garden, monkey and bird enclosures, and, of course, restaurants and gift shops. Aimed squarely at cruise-shippers, it can still be a fun outing for independent travelers with kids.

  3. Historic Sites • Honduras is a tropical paradise attracting many tourists every year to its gorgeous islands, lush rainforests and picturesque mountains. With its immediate access to the world’s second largest barrier reef, Honduras presents some of the best diving and snorkeling opportunities in the Caribbean. What’s more, this beautiful country offers many attractions like ancient Mayan ruins, colonial villages and festive celebrations. From whitewater rafting to hiking and exotic wildlife viewing, there is no end to the fun and adventure here.

  4. Cultural • The largest of all Honduras festivals is the La Ceiba carnival. Known as la Feria de San Isidro, the national carnival is the wildest of all Honduran holidays • Although most Hondurans are nominally Roman Catholic which would be considered the main religion Roman Catholic Church is declining while membership in Protestant churches is increasing.

  5. Shopping &Entertainment • City Mall San Pedro Sula is the largest shopping center in San Pedro Sula, and the most exclusive in Honduras. Its  modern design reflects well on the city in which it was built. • Inside City Mall San Pedro Sula • This commercial center has over 150 stores, 23 eateries in the food court, an Applebee’s restaurant, a Cinemark movie theater, a banking center, arcade, and underground parking. The mall has 1,200 parking spaces with security cameras and is 100% air-conditioned.
