The situation before CIVITAS at Joštova and Česká Street • public space with PT interchange close to the city centre • two of the highest judicial institutions of the Czech Republic have their seats in this place – the Constitutional and the Supreme Administrative Court have a seat at this area • only one information centre focused on transport information at Brno Public Transport Company, but only information on public transport were provided • the distance between stops was quite long as well, thus it wasn’t possible to change PT lines comfortably and quickly • The real time information on arrival/departure of the PT vehicles missing – only time tables CIVITAS Forum l 24-26 September 2012l Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
Time planning • PLANNED: • 2008 – 2009 – the design and construction of the solution of the Integrated Mobility Centre(IMC) and RTIPs • 2009 – 2010 – the preparation of the operation of the IMC • 2010 – installation of the IMC and RTIPs • 2010 – 2012 the operation of the IMC and RTIPs • REAL SITUATION: • 2011 – installation of the IMC and RTIPs • 2011 – 2012 the operation of the IMC and RTIPs CIVITAS Forum l 24-26 September 2012l Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
RTD part – design of IMC and RTIPs, model of the operation • The conditions – limited space 7 x 2,5 m at one of the most important transport interchanges in Brno • Requirements – working place for two employees, place for leaflets, touch screen, the integration of ticket vending machine • Architectonical studio RAW designed the IMC building is based on a modular system which is designed in such a way that it allows different configurations and may be used at different locations. • The design of the Real Time Passenger Information panels is suitable for the historic city centre not only in Brno but in other CEE and middle sized cities in general. • In 2009 and 2010 the so-called investment process took place. Operation of IMC • Main goals of the transport info point – providing the information on transport in the city of Brno and South Moravia Region • Additional information – touristic, cultural events • Presentation of the city and its projects • Information will be provided - by employees (in IMC or by phone, web page), by information leaflets, by touch screen with access to internet • In 2009 and 2010 the so-called investment process took place. Within this internal procedure of the Brno City Municipality the operational model of the IMC and the RTIPs was approved by City Council • Operation is provided by Tourist Information Centre • Transport information are provided by KORDIS JMK, spol. s r.o. and Brno Public Transport Company • RTIPs – KORDIS JMK, spol. s r.o. Implementation of the measure • Costs of IMC: 220.000 € • Costs of 5 RTIPs: 100.000 mil € • Installation begun in spring 2011, it was finished in September 2011 • June – September – dissemination activities – preparation of the information leaflets, unique graphic design, information campaign • August – September 2011 – training workshop for employees • September 19th 2011 – opening ceremony of IMC and RTIPs at stops at Joštova and Česká CIVITAS Forum l 24-26 September 2012l Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain

…after one year of the operation • IMC welcomed 10.000 visitor one week ago • IC is opened seven days in week from 9:30 to 18:00 • Information are provided also in English and German language • 63 % provided informations are focused on transport • 17% of visitor are foreigners CIVITAS Forum l 24-26 September 2012l Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
