  1. PENNSYLVANIA SERVICES CONNECT (PSC) PRESENTS: 1st ANNUAL SHOWCASE SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2012 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. NEW HOPE CHURCH 584 Colonial Club Drive Harrisburg, PA 17112 TARGET POPULATION: Veterans, their families and underserved individuals

WHO IS PSC? • PSC is a collaborative initiative under the direct oversight of the federal government agency, SAMHSA (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration) • Harrisburg/Dauphin County, is one of 13 teams throughout the country that was selected under the 1st Annual White House Faith-based and Community Partners initiative under President Obama.

  3. PURPOSE: Collectively, under one umbrella, we can connect the target population to opportunities for: employment, job training, education, vocational training, recreational activities, healthcare, housing, nonprofits program services, veteran programsMore importantly, other support systems will be available that will increase productivity, sustainability and success in their lives.

  4. Some of the showcase benefits are: Connecting to the available resources, services and support systemsReconnecting the disconnected Veterans and their families to specific opportunitiesBuilding and strengthening relationships and partnershipsBuilding partnerships and relationships with other agencies attending the event Being a part of restoring hope to the targeted individualsBeing a permanent partner under Pennsylvania Services Connect(PSC)

VISION: • We anticipate collaborative partnerships in Dauphin County, from our local State, County and City government agencies, Community and Faith-Based Organizations, Businesses, Employers, Veterans, School Districts, Police Departments and other Veteran Programs • We invite you to be a partner in our vision to connect this targeted population to opportunities and resources that will assist them in maintaining and sustaining in the community

TODAY’S AGENDA: • Welcome/Introductions • Who is Pennsylvania Services Connect (PSC)? • Purpose & Vision • Anticipated areas of connections for our target population: Employment, Education, Housing, Health, Community & Faith Base Organizations, Businesses, etc… • How your partnership and collaborative efforts will assist the PSC team in increasing these connections for our target population

  7. PHASEONE: • Gather & invite synergy of programs, employment opportunities, resources, services, and supports to participate in this event • Reach out to target population via media ,social network, etc… • Create a draft program format utilizing ideas from this planning group • Build into the program design incentives to get the target population to attend; entertainment, giveaways, games , food, etc.
