NCES Net-Centric Publisher *https://metadata.dod.mil/publisher • Purpose • Provides users with a simplified user interface with an integrated workflow for publishing metadata to the NCES Metadata Environment. • Key Facts • Integrated with the NCES Enterprise Catalog • Integrated with the DoD Metadata Registry • Leverages DKO Single Sign-On • Supports the publication of DDMS 1.4.1 compliant DDMS Records • Establishes a workflow for service metadata publication • Available via the DoD Metadata Registry • Primary Benefits • Aids and aligns user interaction with the components of the NCES Metadata Environment • Reduces the complexity of metadata publication and registration within NCES • Improves end user effectiveness and experience • Primary Audience • COIs, DoD Capability Developers, DoD Data Providers, Resource Owners *Publisher will be available for IOT&E

  3. High Level WorkflowUser’s Perspective 1a. Service endpoints are automatically registered in Service Registry 1. User enters all Service information SSO into Publisher User Logs into DKO 2. User advertizes service to Federated Search via Publisher 1b.Service metadata is automatically registered in the DoD Metadata registry.

  4. High Level WorkflowProcess Perspective 5a. User Advertizes service to Federated Search 5b. User optionally configures Value- Added features 4. MSP notifies publisher of successful publication 2. Publisher registers Schema and WSDL to MDR 3. Publisher passes the Service Information to the MSP; MSP configures the Information in the SOAF tools 1. User enters all Service information If error, notify user to change information and resubmit
