Institutional setup • Who is responsible for registration of births, deaths and marriages? • Is registration done by local authories, national agency etc? • Registration of acts of civil status is carried out in the districts and cities by divisions of civil status records, and deaths in the countries, and villages can also be carried out by the chairmen (aksakals) of citizens' gatherings. Accordingly, the responsibility for the timely registration of acts of civil status is imposed on them.

Sources of vital statistics • What is currently used as the source for producing vital statistics on births, deaths and other vital events? • It is conducted on the basis of registered records in the registry office. • What is currently used as source for producing statistics on cause of death? • Records of the death certificate in the registry office. Key CRVS developments • Key improvements in the CRVS system over the last 5 years • In accordance with Resolution No. 346 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of December 30, 2011 "On Additional Measures to Improve the Activity of Civil Registry Bodies," starting from January 1, 2014, the system "Single Electronic Archive of Civil Registry Office" was introduced in the republic. • With the help of this system, the registrar's offices enter information about the registered civil status acts in the Central Database, thereby sending all the data to the State Personalization Center. • The "Single Electronic Archive of the Registry Office" system is intended to speed up the process of presenting qualified legal assistance to citizens, to ensure the preservation of documents and archival materials electronically. • Also, in upcoming future it is planned to develop measures for step-by-step integration with the bodies of internal affairs and public health. Main current tasks The Ministry launched the information system, "Single electronic archive of the registry office." A unified data transmission network of registry offices based on the "VPN" technology has been created. Currently, all registry offices are connected to this data network. The system is integrated with the information systems of the State Personalization Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, information on the registered acts is sent daily. To ensure the accuracy of the input data, this above mentioned body provides access to the biometric passports database. Employees of registrar offices can instantly fill out the form with information about individuals using this mechanism.
Current / plannedevents • It is planned to introduce a mechanism for applying to the registrar's offices through a personal cabinet on the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services for preliminary appointment to the head of the registry office, filing an electronic application for marriage registration and obtaining information on the marital status, as well as electronic payment for the services rendered. • In 2017-2018, the system is planned to integrate with the electronic systems of the Ministry of Health, in terms of obtaining electronic certificates of birth and death, with a database of invalid documents of the Ministry of internal affairs. • In addition, in 2017, according to the Strategy of Action for the five priority development areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, it is planned to introduce online payment systems in the provision of services for the registration of civil status and notary services • Modernization of the existing Unified Electronic Registry Office, providing a high-speed Internet connection and providing the necessary equipment for storing the database.
