Athletics • Football team won the Great Lakes Football Conference championship in 2008 and 10 Miners were first team selections • Men’s track and field team won the GLVC Conference Championship  • Coach Sterling Martin was named GLVC Coach of the Year for men’s track and field • Three Miners earned All-America honors in NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships: Jordan Henry, Peter Hollenbeck, and Dan Hellwig
