Options • Four possible options: • 4-year Colleges and Universities • Community Colleges • Career and Technical Programs • Military • What is important to me about my post high school experience? • $$$$$$ ? • Serving my country? • Research? • Studying? • In the city?   5. 4-Year Colleges and Universities • Students typically: • Earn a bachelor’s degree • Graduate in four years • Five classes per semester • Study a variety of majors • Examples: • GMU • UVA • JMU

  8. What Should I Be Doing to Get Ready? • Rigor • Honors and AP Courses • Foreign Language • Meaningful Electives • Extracurricular Activities • Building Resume

  9. Academic Performance • Focus on working hard and earning good grades • Colleges notice changes in academic performance • Grades earned Junior year are extremely important • ASK FOR HELP, not a schedule change!!
