and Andrew… • …was already bringing people to Jesus (ch 1 v 42) • …saw partly the potential in the lad’s lunch
The crowd… • …had a spiritual hunger • …had a greater hunger for miracles • …and an even greater physical hunger!
The lad… • …did he start by thinking, “Well, I’m all right!”? • …must have spoken to one of the Disciples • …was willing to trust Jesus • …believed that much could come from very little
and Jesus… • …saw the need • …had compassion • …saw the potential in the lad’s resources • …gave thanks • …met the need
The Characters:— • The Disciples including— • Andrew • The crowd • The lad and • Jesus • and ourselves?
The way ahead? • Esther—came from nothing, but God used her to protect His people. • The lad—insignificant in the crowd’s eyes, but Jesus used his gift to meet their needs. • Each of us—what part can I play in Avery Hill’s work in the Kingdom of God in our area? • Don’t despise your own gifts! 2 Timothy 1 v 6 & 7 and Romans 12—present ourselves as living sacrifices
