About Svetlin Nakov • Young entrepreneur, director of the Academy • Author of 4 computer books, above 20 articles • Lecturer in cutting-edge software technologies in Sofia University • Winner in National and International programming contests • Award "John Atanassoff" of the Bulgarian President George Parvanov, 2004 • Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Software Developers – www.devbg.org

  7. The Trainings (2/2) • Focus on the practice • Lots of exercises • Hundreds of lines of code every day • Real life practical projects • Cover all aspects of the training material • Mandatory team working • Graduation exam • If passed, employment is guaranteed

  8. Admission and Funding • Entrance exam is required • Object-oriented programming • Data structures and algorithms • Computer science test • Psycho-test • Best students get scholarships • Interviews with employers • Employers pay for the training • Students get job contract

  9. In the Beginning • NASD started in April 2005 • Lots of problems: • Lack of entrepreneurship experience • Lack of funding • Fully equipped computer lab required for the trainings • Industry do not trust young companies • Students afraid to involve in the trainings

  10. The Need of the Incubator • NASD needs the business incubator • Office area • Funding • Entrepreneurship coaching • Legal consulting • NASD was incubated without the incubator! • Siemens and AASIE supported the Academy
