  4. Strasbourg Facts • It is the capital of the Alsace region • The city is situated in between the Ill River and the Rhine river. • The population of the metropolitan area is 650000

  5. Cathèdrale de Nôtre Dame • It is the tallest medieval building in Europe • It is 142 meters tall • And it is on top of a roman temple

  6. Cathèdrale de NôtreDame (cont) • It is one of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals • It was built from 1190-1439 • It’s the largest church in the Alsace region

  7. La Petite France • Means “little France” • It’s a historic neighborhood with cobblestone roads, medieval buildings, and fine restaurants. • There is notoriously good shopping in this part

  8. Musée de l’Oeuvre Notre-Dame • Museum that illustrates the art of the middle ages • and Renaissanceera. • There is a window showing a 13th century emperor.
