The Overlooked Teacher • You have just started your third year. • You have never joined the association. • No one has ever asked you directly to join the association. • You have a perception that the association is run by just a few teachers. • You have time, you are single and you have worked on causes before.
Drop Out Teacher • This teacher has taught in the district for 6 years. • They were a member before, but dropped. • The teacher never understood why you had to join UEA/NEA. • They dropped the year the dues went up 20.00.
The Hold Out Teacher • Taught for 8 years in the district. • Never joined the association. • Considers themselves a good teacher. • Asks, “Why would I ever need the association?”. • The teacher has good ideas and leadership abilities.
