Importance Of Highly Dispersible Silica

Brisil is a leading silica manufacturing company addressing the problem of rice husk ash utilization. It has developed an unique technology to use rice husk ash, a fly-ash generated after using rice husk as fuel, to produce precipitated silica and highly dispersible silica.

  1. Importance Of Highly Dispersible Silica

  2. What is the use of Highly Dispersible Silica? Highly Disperse Silica exhibits an extremely high level of reinforcement of rubber vulcanizates and advantages in vulcanization time, to a process for their preparation, and to their use as filler for rubber mixtures.

  3. Why Highly Dispersible Silica is used in tires? The use of precipitated silica in elastomer mixtures, such as tire tread mixtures, has been known for a long time. There are stringent requirements relating to the use of silica as reinforcing filler in rubber mixtures, for example those used to produce pneumatic tires and technical rubber products.

  4. It has low density and have good capability for incorporation and dispersion in the rubber, and undergo chemical bonding to the rubber in association with a coupling reagent, preferably a bifunctionalorganosilicon compound, this reaction leading to the desired high level of reinforcement of the rubber mixture.

  5. The property of reinforcement can in particular be associated with high static stress values and a low abrasion value. The particle size, surface morphology, surface activity, and also the binding power of the coupling reagent, are of particularly decisive importance in relation to the reinforcing property of the silica.

  6. The Highly Dispersible Silica In Tires Results In: • Improved Process-ability. • Better Tensile Strength. • Improved Tear Resistance. • Better Abrasion Resistance. • Better Hardness.

  7. Tires with better Improved Process-ability, better Tensile Strength, improved Tear Resistance, better Abrasion Resistance, better Hardness

  8. Major advantages of using Highly Dispersible Silica in tires are: • Improvement In Mileage Due To Improved Rolling Resistance.  Car makers are striving to get their vehicles to use less energy and emit less CO2 by streamlining chassis and bodywork, and developing hybrid engines. They also recognize the critical roles tires play. But the rolling resistance of tires is responsible for 20 percent of fuel consumption, and it essential to reduce it.

  9. Improvement In Mileage Due To Improved Rolling Resistance.

  10. Improved Safety Due To Better Wet Grip. Most of the countries have enacted, or are in the process of developing, new regulations requiring labels for tires. These labeling requirements vary from one another, but generally will give consumers information on safety performance, wet traction, durability, environmental performance, fuel consumption and external noise. Achieving these new required minimums, demands a technological change, this is now made possible by highly dispersible silica.

  11. Improved Safety Due To Better Wet Grip

  12. Apart From These There Are Some More Advantages Of Highly Dispersible Silica • Reduced Green House Gas Emission. • Abrasion Resistance Improvement. • Reduction in carbon black consumption.

  13. Brisil is a leading silica manufacturing company addressing the problem of rice husk ash utilization. It has developed an unique technology to use rice husk ash, a fly-ash generated after using rice husk as fuel, to produce precipitated silica and highly dispersible silica.

  14. The highly dispersible silica is used as filler in energy efficient green tires to improve the mileage of vehicles and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles. Globally, all major tire companies are looking to increase silica content in tires to improve the tire performance and reduce carbon black content.

  15. Brisil’s Highly Dispersible Silica is best suitable for energy efficient green tires. Brisil has worked closely with some of the biggest tire companies in the world to develop most advanced highly dispersible silica.
