Professional Development Outcomes • Two graduate credits awarded by California University of Pennsylvania, applicable to Act 48 • No cost to participants • Must meet or exceed all established requirements to receive two graduate credits

Program Improvements • Theme of urban academy is “Differentiated Instruction” • Smaller, more focused opportunities for participants to network with peers around educational issues • Same concurrent sessions available for all participants to attend • Opportunities for participants to share highlights of Teaching and Learning Improvement Plans
Program Improvements • Culminating activity: differentiate a literacy or mathematics lesson; or write a response to an open-ended mathematical problem similar to what students must do on PSSA • Team planning & reflection moved to end of the day
Team Mentors • Assigned to work with each team • To assist designated team(s) at ALL planning times and to answer questions about the Academy and its program • To provide advice, guidance and direction as team(s) develop Teaching and Learning Improvement Plan(s)
