High Price of Education In ancient rome Girls from rich families in Ancient Rome did receive education but this was done at home. They were taught how to run a good household and to be a good wife. Boys were not aloud to write on paper because it was to expensive in ancient Roman boys practiced on a waxed tablets they could only use paper if they could write well and had neat handwriting .
Teacher’s Salary Ancient Romans were not able to afford education because the prices of food and clothing were also expensive and without the free wheat subsidies from the government ancient Romans would not be able to survive. Also elementary teachers received 50 denarii per month per student, an Arithmetic teacher would receive 75 denarii per month per student and the prices get higher and higher per grade level teacher.
Plebeians Education Schooling and education in ancient Rome was always a private affair which back then was performed by the child’s parents. In ancient Rome education was very high and before the sixth century kids were taught by there parents. Poor ancient Romans did not receive a formal education many of them were still learning how to read and write.
High Price of Education Problem Today Tuition and required charges rose significantly in many states and some reduced their student financial aid programs. Tuition and mandatory fee charges at a four-year public institution rose in every state and fourteen states increased their total investment in student grant aid by more than 10 percent between 2001 and 2002. Since 2000 college cost has risen 23 percent while the earning of recent graduates has declined 11 percent.
Questions Q:If the cost of two of the most heavily subsidized sectors of the economy are growing at a clip far outpacing inflation, are the subsidies, the root of the price hikes? A: It’s reversed the high price of education is causing subsidies.
Solution My solution for high price of education in Rome is to set up a like a welfare system for school so the poor can afford to attend school.
