Here’s A Look at Your Benefits • Copays are $10 per exam and $25 for lenses or frame. • With your benefit, you can get: • An eye exam once every year. They’re covered in full minus your copay in-network. • Spectacle lenses once every year. Single vision, lined bifocal, and lined trifocal lenses are covered in full, minus your copay in-network. Discounts are available on noncovered lens options. • Frame once every year. $120 allowance in-network. 20% discount on any overage. • Elective contact lenses once every year in lieu of glasses (lenses and frame). $120 allowance in-network. • Out-of-network allowances are available if using a non-VSP provider for exam, lenses, frame, and contacts. Copays still apply. • Laser vision correction is available at an average 15% discount from contracted facilities.
VSP Tidbits: • VSP® Vision Care has been providing vision care benefits for over 50 years. • 1 in 6 people have VSP coverage nationwide, approximately 55 million members. • VSP has over 30,000 clients and 25,000 doctors nationwide. • VSP has been the Group Insurance Board's vision partner since 1999. • VSP has the highest enrollment amongst all OSEEGIB vision plan offerings, with over 43,000 OSEEGIB employees plus dependents enrolled in the plan.
Advantages of Being a VSP Member: • With little or no out-of-pocket costs, members receive exceptional network access, customer service, comprehensive benefits, and guaranteed satisfaction. • Members have access to unlimited frame and lens selection and one-stop shopping convenience through VSP doctors. • Members receive the highest quality of eyecare and materials from VSP’s exclusive network of private-practice optometrists and ophthalmologists, year after year. • Of course, our members can always choose to receive a comprehensive eye exam from one VSP doctor and get glasses through another VSP doctor. But working with one doctor assures the highest quality. • With easy to use benefits, members simply inform the doctor of their VSP coverage. We’ll take care of the rest. • VSP members also have access to an out-of-network benefit. Allowances are provided for exams, glasses and contact lenses if the patient chooses to go to a nonparticipating provider.
Advantages of Using a VSP Doctor: • VSP fully covers polycarbonate lenses for dependent children—that's a savings of as much as $30! • VSP doctors offer discounts averaging 35-40% on non-covered lens options. • Members can now receive a 30% discount off additional glasses and sunglasses, including lens options, from the same VSP doctor on the same day as your WellVision® Exam. Or get 20% off from any VSP doctor within 12 months of your last WellVision Exam. • Members receive a 15% discount off the contact lens exam. Current soft contact lens wearers may be eligible for a special program that includes an initial contact lens evaluation and initial supply of lenses. • Members with type 1 diabetes can receive additional services related to their condition. • Enrolled members who have received laser eye correction can still use the VSP benefit for sunglasses from any VSP doctor, if eligible.
