Objective الأهداف • I can recognize the verb in a Verbal Sentence. أستطيع التعرف على الفعل في الجملة الفعلية • I can form a verbal sentence using nouns and verbs أستطيع أن أكون جملة فعلية من اسم و فعل • I can Change a past tense verb from masculine to a feminine past tense. • أن يغير الفعل الماضي من صيغة المذكر لصيغة المؤنث • I can use the dictionary to find the meaning of a past tense verb أجد معنى فعل ماضي باستعمال المورد

  3. الفعل • A verb is word that signifies or represent an action • The simplest form of verbs is the past tense and in its singular masculine form Ex: أَكَلَ He ate خَرَجَ He left دَرَسَ He studied

  4. Other Tenses of the Verb • Present tense and Future tense of a verb are formed by adding a letter to the past tense كتب Add ي as a prefix at the beginning for a masculine present tenseيكتب . Add س and ي as a prefix for a future tense سيكتب

  5. Past Tense verb • Comes at the beginning of the verbal sentence • كَتَب الولَدُ الواجب.The boy wrote the homework swag • أكَلَ أحمَدُ الدَجاج Ahmed ate the chicken • سَكَنَ سامي في ديربورنSami lived in Dearborn • The verb will be followed by a subject : • كَتَب الولَدُ الواجب.The boy wrote the homework • أكَلَ أحمَدُ الدَجاج Ahmed ate the chicken • سَكَنَساميفي ديربورنSami lived in Dearborn

  6. تمرين Activity • Pair up with 2 other partner • Given the six groups 6 minutes to form two sentences • One of the group members in each group, should write the sentence in the proper order on the chart paper • Underline the verb in your sentence.

  7. For a Feminine Past tense Verb • For a feminine form of a past tense verb add a suffix of ت at the end of the verb Ex: Farooq wrote كتب فاروق Wedad wrote كتبت وداد

Jigsaw activity • Group in • Each group will assigned with the color • Each group will have three verbs to look for their meaning • each student will have a table with the meaning and page number to fill in using jigsaw activity ( remember after you finish within your group I will give you time to go around to other groups and then come back to your group and inform them with the new verbs )
