ALS is different from formal education because it teaches basic life skills through the use of printed modules rather than having classes in the formal setting • Modules that are: • Self paced • Self-instructional • Indigenous • Integrated
All passers of ALS accreditation tests get elementary or high school certificates signed by no less than the education secretary
THE ALS MOBILE TEACHERS PROGRAM: • Makes education accessible to out-of-school youth and adults; • Raises level of literacy and • Improves quality of life of individuals and families in underserved communities
