Triad Fishbowl Discussion • Expectations: • Everyone will be prepared • Cornell Notes, Answers to Questions, Your own questions • Everyone will participate • Points are given for meaningful participation • People will follow the structure of this discussion • (Next slide)

Triad Fishbowl • People will be in groups of three (triads) • Each person in the triad will have a chance to be in the inner circle • After about 10 minutes, we will rotate • (you have about 10 minutes to contribute meaningfully. See assessment)
Inner Circle • Only students in the inner circle are allowed to talk during the discussion • It is the responsibility of the inner circle to make sure all viewpoints get considered. If necessary, play devil’s advocate • Record your contribution to the discussion (see “record your participation”)
Outer Circle • If you have something to contribute, “feed the fish.” • Useful contributions from the outer circle include questions, assertions, evidence/facts/reasonings • Take notes under your preparation questions. • What are the strongest points being made? • What are the main points people agree on? Why? • What are the main points people disagree on? Why?
