Si-TPC Single-chip test detector • First step, not to flush 100 liters: 6 cm x 2cm x 2cm field cage • fine gas tubes, USB readout • To be tested in DESY test beam • possibly X-ray polarimetry in the Soleil synchrotron • In June : first prototype with Medipix 2 –MXR chip • In September real TPC with TimePix? LP endplate (s) Initial plans • Initial plans differ a lot (Saclay T2K: 2 large modules, 12 bolts / Cornell: 26 small modules, 80 bolts • But will converge fast, somewhere between these extremes Saclay T2K Cornell P. Colas, Endplates
LP endplate (s) General principles(for discussion) • General idea: several modules (more than 2) • Gas-tightness. From the back of each module: minimize dead areas • Potential continuity • Modules can be different, some can be dummy • Cannot mix GEM and Micromegas on the same endplate (different running conditions, very different potentials and thickness) • However keep as similar as possible • Keep space for pixels P. Colas, Endplates

Japanese contribution to the LP • They got >1 postdoc during 5 years + 50-100 k$/year • Can contribute by industry building endplates/pad boards. • Propose Endplate design meeting in Paris in September. • To clearly define goals of LP • To clearly define boundary conditions (field cage and electronic interfaces) • To agree on basic principles • To assess resources P. Colas, Endplates
