Hamburger Paragraph(from bottom to top) • Bottom of bun: This is the hook, where writer tells what the paragraph is about. • Meat: This main portion of the paragraph, they reason behind the topic sentence. • Ketchup/mayo/pickles: This is your supporting facts that provide evidence to the main point(s) of the topic. • Top of bun: Where writer put their conclusion or wraps up the paragraph.

  2. Topic: Why are dead words bad? • Topic Sentence (bottom of bun): Dead words are the last thing you want in your writing. • Reason (meat portion) They are bad because they make they story boring. It adds words that are not descriptive and useless. • Supporting facts (ketchup/mustard/pickles): They are bad because it puts words that show no purpose. • Conclusion (top of bun): As a result the reader gets bored and stops reading.
