Rules of walking in the hallway • Walking in the hallways is safe and respectful. • If you run in the hallways you can get hurt or in trouble. • If it is against the rules you don’t need to break them. • So seriously kids, DON’T RUN IN THE HALLS!!
Be good in the halls • Walking in the hallways is the safest way to get to class. The halls are dangerous if you don’t follow the rules. • Example: Tom walks into the school, walks to his locker, and calmly talks to his friends before the class bell rings.
Bad in the halls • Do not run in the hallways • Do not horseplay in the hallways • Non Example: John and Mike ran down the hallway to their friend bill, and started to wrestle.

Discussion • Indicate in the following situations whether the students are there (meeting the expectation), almost there, or not even close to there. • John is in a hurry to get to activity period after lunch so he runs out of the cafeteria and shoves his way through the students trying to get to the cafeteria • Stephanie meanders back and forth across the hall talking to her friends. • The bell rings and the class exits into the hallway. Craig pauses to let Sue get to her locker, then proceeds down the hall to his next class.
