Creepiest Places on Earth!. Happy Halloween!. Centralia, Pennsylvania. One day a group of miners lit garbage in an abandoned pit. Highly flammable coal was in the pit, and caught ablaze, taking the underground mine with it. The fires still burn today, causing huge sinkholes to engulf the town.

  2. Centralia, Pennsylvania One day a group of miners lit garbage in an abandoned pit. Highly flammable coal was in the pit, and caught ablaze, taking the underground mine with it. The fires still burn today, causing huge sinkholes to engulf the town

  3. Lake Natron This lake in Tanzania can reach a pH of 10.5 and temperatures of 60 degrees C. While animals do not die instantly, dead animals become petrified almost like a mummy.

  4. Blood lake in Carmargue France Don’t worry the world isn’t ending. The waters of this lake in southern France turned blood red due to a very high concentration of salt deposits in the lake.

  5. Chernobyl Amusement Park, Ukraine In 1986 a nuclear accident in Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Pripyat, Ukraine sent radiation all over the USSR and Europe. This amusement park was set to open May 1st, five days before the accident

  6. The Devil’s Kettle, Minnesota These two waterfalls seem normal, the Eastern waterfall flows into a pool and continues normally. The western waterfall flows into a mysterious hole, and then disappears. Geologists are stumped as to where the water empties into.
