Michael Mandiberg was born December 22, 1977 in Detroit, Michigan. • He received a MFA from California Institute for the Arts • He is a currently Assistant Professor at the College of Staten Island/CUNY and he is a OpenLab Research fellow at Eyebeam. • He was a Brooklyn -Based artist, programer, designer, educator and bicyclist. • He’s known for creating conceptual art projects, design objects, and publications. • He created firefox plugins, he was one of the co-authors in Creative Commons textbook, Digital Foundations: Intro to Media Design, Bright Bike, and the Director of the New York Arts Practicum.
His work has been exhibited in: • New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City • Ars Electronica Center in Linz • ZKM in Karlsruhe • Transmediale Festival in Berlin His work was featured in two books: • Tribe and Jan’s New Media Art • Blais and Ippolito’s At the Edge of Art

Digital Foundations Mandiberg said that he Digital Foundations with AIGA Design Press/ New Riders under a CC license. The book teach lessons Bauhaus Design Principles in the Adobe Creative Suite. This book was released on December 21, 2008
