Developing a skilled workforce - the key contribution from apprenticeships • Nottingham Apprenticeship Hub – supporting 1,000 Apprenticeship starts by March 2015, including 250 in the Creative Quarter. • The Hub supports the promotion of Apprenticeships in Nottingham by helping: • Local employers to create Apprenticeship vacancies • City residents to become apprentices

Support for employers: • Identify the best Apprenticeship framework and training provider • Financial support • Support with advertising and recruitment Support for young people: • Promotion in Schools • Advertising local vacancies on Hub’s website, Facebook and Twitter • Support with application process • Apprenticeship Fairs / Events

Benefits of an apprentice to a business • 92% of employers report that their apprentice has bought benefits to their business • 77% of employers believe Apprenticeships make them more competitive; • 76% say that Apprenticeships provide higher overall productivity; • 80% feel that Apprenticeships reduce staff turnover; • 83% of employers rely on their Apprenticeships programme to provide the skilled workers that they need for the future; • 88% believe that Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce
