Theinformation is laterreviewed andevaluatedonthebasisoffollowingcriteria to determinewhethera personqualifiesfortheTPD discharge: • Submitan approved documentfromtheVeterans Affairs’ Departmentof theUnited States to declarethan anindividual isunemployableasa result ofservicerelateddisabilities. • SubmitbenefitsreceivedfromSupplementalSecurityIncomeandSocialSecurityDisabilityInsurancestatingthenextscheduleddateof disabilityreview. • Submit a document from thecertifiedphysicianconfirmingpermanentlydisability. • DeathDischarge:Intheeventofborrower’s death, thedebttakenbythestudentwillbedischarged.Thismeans, thePLUS loantakenbytheparentwouldbedischargedincaseofdeathoftheparentorthestudentforwhomloanwasobtained.Acertifiedcopyofdeathcertificateneedsto befurnished bythefamilymemberto theloanservicer. • Bankruptcy:UnderChapter13orChapter7,ifanindividualhasfiledforbankruptcythentheobligationofloanrepaymentwillbe discharged.Thiswillbebasedonthefollowing decisivefactors: • Theindividual, if obligatedto repayloan,wouldbeunableto sustaina requiredminimal standardofliving. • Submissionofa significantevidenceto verify that thehardshipwouldcontinuefor a considerableperiodoftime. • Aprudentattempt ofminimum5yearswasmadebytheindividualto repay loanbeforefilingforthebankruptcy.
