HB 6073(Teodoro Casino, Bayan Muna) • Filed with the Committee on Labor and Employment on May 8, 2012 • Seeks to promote occupational health and safety in the BPO industry through the formulation of Occupational Health and Safety Standards for BPO Work • Creates Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) workplace representatives to monitor the work environment • Provides a mechanism for compensation for work-related injuries and illnesses and considers nightshift work as hazardous • Makes employers criminally liable for acts endangering the welfare of BPO workers
Memorandum of Agreemententered into between DOLE and PMAP on May 3, 2012 • Develop joint initiatives for advocacy and coordination in labor legislation and policy making • Ensure PMAP representation in the Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils by the Chapter Presidents in their respective regions • Identify areas for research and publication as well document and disseminate best practices pertaining to dispute settlement and prevention • Identify areas of convergence of DOLE Labor-Management Education on Employment Relations modules as well as the Continuing Labor Education Seminars and PMAP education programs for information and development of their members • Pursue joint information dissemination on and implementation of the Incentivizing Compliance Program pursuant to DOLE DO 115-11 • Develop joint mechanism for proactive promotion of bi-partite workplace-based processes • Industrial Relations Joint Consultative Committee (IR-JCC) • DOLE – Bureau of Labor Relations • PMAP – Labor Policy Reforms and Industrial Relations Committee
