Zone Events • For example: • Zone Meetings • Zone Socials • Zone Fun / Family Days • Strides Walks for Diabetes / Diabetes Awareness Days
Why District/Zone Events? • Builds District cooperation and team work. • Builds District understanding/awareness. • Generates camaraderie amongst the Clubs / Club partnerships / challenges / Club Raids. • Opportunity to share and obtain new initiatives, and ideas. • Opportunity to partner with well known organsiations i.e. SANBS. • Opportunity to market and create visibility of LIONS on a large scale.
Zone Chairpersons Duties • Zone / DGAC Meetings for the year, as per DG’s requirements. • Meetings to be held PRIOR to Cabinet Meetings. • Advise Clubs of deadline dates for submission of reports. • Send a template of the report to all Club Presidents. • Compile your Cabinet Report as per the template you will receive. • Ensure that you meet the deadline dates for submission of Cabinet Reports. • Ensure that Clubs submit their WMMR’s and Activity Reports by the 25th of each month. • Monitor the well-being and status of Clubs in your Zone with focus on Developing 410 Excellence. • Follow-up with Clubs regarding outstanding dues. • Familiarise yourself with Lions Clubs International Suspension Policy.
Zone Chairpersons Duties cont • Ensure the sound administration of the Clubs in your Zone. • Suggest, implement and monitor methods to assist “sub-par” Clubs in your Zone and keep your GMT Coordinator informed • Identify future Club and Cabinet Officers within the respective Clubs. • Advise GLT Committee regarding training requirements. • Attend at required meetings of each of the Clubs in your Zone. • Ensure that Clubs abide by the Constitution and By-laws of District 410C and Lions Clubs International. • Promote participation in District Events. • “Ears” of the District Governor
GMT & GLT Interaction With the GMT District Coordinator, help organize new clubs and stay informed on club activities and well-being With the GLT district coordinator, support leadership initiatives by keeping Lions informed of leadership development opportunities
