Goal of Community Clinic • Provide free Influenza Vaccinations to Winnebago County residents who meet any of the following conditions: • No health insurance • Unemployed • Underemployed • Cannot afford vaccinations • Provide prophylaxes to vulnerable populations
Goal of Community Clinic continued… • Practice a community response to a public health emergency (such as a pandemic or bioterrorism attack) • In such an event we would open Points of Distribution (also known as POD’s)
Clinic Supervisor information • Each clinic will have a Clinic Chief Binder which includes all information needed for you as Clinic Supervisor • Familiarize yourself with the Clinic Binder before clinic opens
Inventory Management • Each clinic will have a laptop computer and hard copies of Inventory Management support items • Clinics will have sufficient supplies for at least 4 hours of normal operations on hand at start • Try to determine if a re-supply request will be needed at least 1 hour prior to actually needing the supplies • Send re-supply request to Logistics (contact method and contact information in Clinic Chief Binder)
Clinic Safety Management • Ensures safety of all Clinic staff and clients • Gives a Safety Briefing to Clinic staff prior to the Staff member working (Briefing located in Clinic Chief Binder) • If an unsafe practice is observed, EVERYONE has a duty to STOP the unsafe act! • If accident occurs, Clinic Supervisor ensures applicable protocols are followed and reports are completed and filed as appropriate
Clinic Operation for 25 October 2012 • Arrive 30 mins. – 1 hour prior to clinic opening • Clinic supplies will be at the clinic • Review Clinic Chief Binder • Set up clinic using suggested flow chart provided in the Clinic Chief Binder • Make sure that ALL clinic workers sign-in and out of the clinic
Clinic Operation for 25 October 2012 • Ensure clinic is set up, staffed, supplied and ready to go by opening time • Report readiness to open to Incident Command Center (contact information located in Clinic Chief Binder) • Open clinic • Ensure smooth flow of clinic • Ensure supplies are on hand and sufficient for continued operations
Clinic Operation for 25 October 2012 • If any questions, call any of the contacts listed in the Clinic Chief Binder • When closing Clinic, pack up remaining supplies • Call Incident Command (contact information listed in Clinic Chief Binder) • Ensure Clinic site is as you found it
