WHAT IS SCCM 2012? • Configuration Manager 2012 is the most current Microsoft solution for centralized client management. • Configuration Manager 2012 provides remote control, patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, and hardware and software inventory. • Significant changes from previous versions of System Center • Similar to Altiris, LANDesk, KACE, etc...

SYSTEM requirements • CM2012’s hardware requirements will vary based on the number of managed clients. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519636.aspx • Supported in a virtual environment • No more separate licenses for each product in Configuration Manager • SQL server licenses are included • Part of option 2 of the Open Value Subscription (OVS) agreement
