Integration: Lessons learned Integration as a means to an end: Unity of purpose Timely, effective, tangible contributions Impact The minimum should be: Mission and UNCT as partners under ONE UN with common vision and consistent/coordinated communication
Integration: Lessons learned The “long term versus short term” fallacy: both approaches are necessary: For UNCT, “business as usual” cannot apply and plans should reflect peacebuilding urgency Missions should recognize LT nature of development issues Use and strengthen existing UN capacities and structures (“they’re here to stay”)
