Sport Phillip • Council funded programs • Inclusive swimming program (South Pacific Health Club- St Kilda) • CALD water safety project (Lifesaving Victoria) • Jump Start • Fitness Express at Alma Park • Partnerships and Collaborations • Bowling with babies (Port Melbourne Bowling Club) • Soccer Mums (Football Victoria) • Social Sixes (Cricket Victoria) • Qigong along Elwood Foreshore (Chi Space) • One Ball • New participation programs • Learn to run (Along St Kilda Foreshore) • Mums and Bubs yoga • 12 RND Fitness – Think Pink • Over 50’s Pilates

Sport Phillip: Jump Start program • Council funded program • Receive up to $200 • Must be aged 5 to 25 years of age • Must be a resident of CoPP • Have a valid healthcare or pension card • Can only apply once per financial year • Application Process • Choose a sport / registered sports club • Summer applications are open in August & winter application are open in Feb • Stats to date • 22 applications received for summer and 17 applicants continued to (Selected sports include Nippers, Tennis, Netball, Cricket, Gymnastics, Sea scouts) • All nominated Sports Clubs were responsive in accepting participants and most applicants attended on a weekly basis. • 14 applications received for winter and 12 applicants will be enrolled to their nominated Sports Club • Can cater up to 25 applicants per season.

Sport Phillip: Participation rates • CALD Water Project • In collaboration with Lifesaving Victoria (LSV) • The beach program has been delivered to 326 participants • To date LSV has educated 1,003 through the two programs that CoPP contributes funding • Bowling with babies • Commenced late October to December 2018 (9 sessions) • At the launch of the program 50 parents and babies attended • 106 registrations • Over 30 participants attending on a weekly basis • Fitness Express at Alma Park • Caters to all fitness levels • High interval training outdoors • 71 registered participants to date (commenced November)

  6. VicHealth: This Girl Can - Vic • This Girl Can Victoria • Campaign launch February 2018 after seeing great success in England. Sport England empowered 2.8 million women. • Is a game changing campaign to empower women to become more physically active . • VicHealth are determined to achieve the same success in Victoria • The campaign is a celebration of women being active no matter how they do it, how they look or how long it takes. • City of Port Phillip • Introduced various female only participation programs such as : • Social Sixes • Soccer Mums • Bowling with babies • Fitness 4 parents

Promoting your events in the community • What Council can promote? • Events and activities that encourages the community to get active, is inclusive and promotes social cohesion. • Free and low cost events for all • Come and try activities (open days) • How we can promote your events? • Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) • Explore Port Phillip – events calendar • Divercity Magazine – Editor, Greg Day. Email: gday@edunity.com.au • What we require? • Content (brief summary of what you would like us to post) • Image/ footage Consent • Short clip (captures peoples attention) or good quality image • Tagging • What to do to promote a program or a community event? • Send content, image or video to recreation@portphillip.vic.gov.au • Provide sufficient notice for our Social Media schedule

Explore Port Phillip • Explore Port Phillip is the City of Port Phillip’s tourism channel. • If you are running an event in the City of Port Phillip and want to promote to a broader audience creating an Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) listing is a great way to gain more exposure. • You event will also be placed onto www.visitvictoria.com Victoria’s tourism digital channel and www.australia.com Australia’s tourism digital channel amongst others. • Email recreation@portphillip.vic.gov.au • We can send you the factsheet of how to register your community event for free.
