This presentation discusses the system model and outage probability of relay communication with selection combining. The decoding set, transmit SNR, and link gains are examined to evaluate relay performance under different channel conditions. The research by Jeremiah Hu and Norman C. Beaulieu is presented by Amir Minayi Jalil.

Performance Analysis of Decode-and-Forward Relaying with Selection Combining By: Jeremiah Hu and Norman C. Beaulieu Presentation by: Amir Minayi Jalil
SYSTEM MODEL • it is assumed that the destination node is able to determine among the received signals the one with the largest SNR.
If the received SNR at a relay node is above the specified threshold SNR, then the relay is assumed to be able to fully decode the source message. • We define the decoding set Cas those relay nodes whose received SNR is above the specified threshold SNR.
yiis the square of the gain on the i-th link γ is the transmit SNR
Outage probability of DF relaying with SC and MRC for m = 2 in inid channels.
Outage probability of DF relaying with SC and MRC for m = 4 in inid channels.
