Developments within LM Statistics ONS Website • ONS completely overhauling their website • Implementation date is 30th April 2010 • Old web site goes to NSA (www.stats.gov.uk) • New web site will be www.ons.gov.uk • New data explorer tool for time-series data • Summary time series data tables (e.g regional tables) will no longer exist ONS’s objectives for the new website • quicker and easier to find information, including better search & navigation • easier to use information, by downloading data, charts and graphs • improved accessibility for users with sight or other impairments • prompt release of outputs at 9:30 am, sharp More info at : http://www.ons.gov.uk/about/what-we-do/programmes---projects/web-development/index.html
Developments within LM Statistics Labour Market Information (LMI) Review Aims • coordination & cooperation in provision of LMI in Scotland through the creation of a LMI framework; and • formalise roles & responsibilities of key stakeholders in the provision of national, regional, local and sectoral LMI in Scotland Work-streams for • Developing LMI • assess current LMI provision, requirements and gaps in Scotland • agree what is feasible to provide, given available resources • Communication & Dissemination of LMI • agree how any LMI improvements should be delivered Teams are currently finalising recommendations
